One of my favorite Prayers of Confessions that we use in our worship services has a part that says,
As we come before you now, believers and doubters alike, we all share a deep need, for we are all lost without your grace.
The part that I really like is that it acknowledges and welcomes both believers and doubters alike… for we all share a deep need for God’s grace.
So, when I found this, I thought it was a great encouragement to those who, in the midst of the joy of Easter, find it difficult to acknowledge doubt. But the redemptive story of Thomas declares that doubt has long been a part of Easter.
Happy Easter to you, my fellow doubter. May the resurrected Christ find His way to you, also.
