An observant, forgetful, angelic response

As a follow up to my article last week (Before Speaking of a Speck in Another’s Eye), let me share with you the modelling of Christ-like love by my sister in the faith & former team member. Angel is a teacher in a public school and a single mother of two school going children in East Africa. In her own words:

“I initiated a campaign of buying a school uniform for the needy in my school. I could see that I don’t have anything in my house. But when I go in class to look at the kid who is exposing his private parts just of a torn short, have no hope of having another one, it made me forgot my needs and care for others.

I reached out to 65 kids while there and 8 already identified to be bought school uniforms.

While there, I realized that a lot of kids were malnourished due to lack of food because of hunger. I initiated another campaign of feeding them just two weeks of coming to the new school.

16 kids were identified. They will be eating 2 times a week . I started it yesterday. But more than 16 kids came. I was overwhelmed.

I had 5kgs flour left in my house, had no sugar, no lunch for my kid to take to school when I was doing this yesterday. But guess what? While I was there preparing food for them, my old friend just called to give me a free 50 kgs bag of maize!

These kids will be eating on Mondays and Friday’s up until February”.
