John, preaching from this week’s Lectionary readings and primarily from the Gospel reading, shared with us about how there are many things that stand in the way of us following Christ. Like He did with the rich young ruler, Jesus calls us to give these things up and then – without distractions – follow Him.
John noted that the problem wasn’t so much in “the having” of “stuff”; but more so in the “not willing to let go” of that same stuff.
