Easter Sunday 2014

Glorious Resurrection – Christ has risen, indeed!

Our Easter Sunday celebration was marked with high spirit and joy – even as we kicked off with praise and worship led by Aaron! (For some reason, a few of our church members dubbed the music team “BLC’s Boy Band”).

Everyone who came to church was greeted with the gift of chocolates – a replacement chocolate “Easter egg” – which brought a smile to many faces as they entered in. A batch of these same “eggs” were also hidden around the church for the children’s “Easter Egg Hunt” after service.

During the sermon, the children’s ministry took the kids for a very special and yummy activity: decorating biscuits with icing and chocolate candy – symbolizing the death and resurrection of Christ.

The kids, of course, loved it and really enjoyed themselves – and they were also joined by some of the older kids; who equally loved the activity and enjoyed themselves too!

The service also included a time of Holy Communion as we remembered together how Christ’s death and resurrection – encouraging one another, and all the more as we look forward to His eventual return.

As we settled into post-lunch conversations, we were greeted with a typical “BLC” sight. Yes, come on over to BLC, where kids (and other youthful-looking people) have no fear or “pantang” about embracing coffins and other symbols of death with a smile! Here’s celebrating the resurrection with confidence this Easter Sunday.

‘“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’
1 Cor 15:55-57

Blessed Easter!

PalmSundayBLC

Tomorrow, we celebrate Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday, commemorating Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

One of the things we’ll be doing is to fold palm leaves into the shape of a cross during service today. So, here’s a helpful video as well as step-by-step instructions!

Immediately following Palm Sunday, we head into our Holy Week celebrations, culminating with Good Friday before we celebrate Christ’s resurrection on Easter.

All our Holy Week celebrations are open to all. Click here to find out more. If you’re on Facebook, the public event page is here.
