Christ is risen!

This morning’s Easter Service came as a culmination of our journey through Lent and Holy Week, themed In The Cross: Upwards and Outwards.

We were greeted this morning by the sight of our lightbox-cross now themed for the Easter season. What’s most amazing about this is that Mei Li actually drew and painted each individual square by hand! (We are forever grateful to Larry for resurrecting our beloved lightbox-cross!)

The morning service began with our worship liturgy – which was kicked off by the BLC Brass Ensemble’s rendition of the classic hymn, “Christ The Lord Is Risen Today” (which they did an encore for us to close off the service – see the video below).

Just before the sermon, the youth then came up and performed a wonderful, original skit titled, “What is Easter?” This concept of the skit was developed by the youth, with the script written by Jemma. We were truly blessed by their talent!

Pastor Augustin then preached a sermon challenging us to live out the implications of being “Easter people.”

Then, just before the benediction, the BLC Brass Ensemble came on again to lead us through, “Christ The Lord Is Risen Today” one more time.

Of course, after the service, we adjourned to our Easter lunch together in church. (A church that eats together…)

Christ is risen, indeed!
